Declaration Concerning Our Liberties is affirmed.
June 10, 1661
General Court declares that “the patent (under God)” of the Massachusetts Bay Colony gives it the right to form a body politic with the authority to make freemen, establish a government, and make laws and repel invaders. Nonetheless, the court affirms that it is to be loyal in all things to the king.
